It’s show time.
In about four hours, I’ll being seeing all of you.
In about four hours, we will be loading up an assortment of necessities, nuts and bolts, sticky stuff and what not.
In all these small things, we also carry hopes for what we have worked for.
OPEN HOUSE 2010
In the next two days, we’re gonna try to attempt to convey why iheartkr, and attempt to convince that they are gonna heartkr too.
All the day and nights of meetings and buildings have culminated up to this point, and it’s crunch time.
I’m personally convinced that it’s going to be good.
This team is one reason why the attachment to KR is so strong. At the end of the day, its not about the fact that our gym is air conditioned, or that we have a dance studio or a band room, neither is it that we actually have lifts or that our roofs are beautiful.
In KR, it’s about the people and the experiences we share.
I must admit that at this point in time, it is not easy at all for me to say this. But despite the possibility that my efforts have not “paid off” by conventional definition, there has been little regret for what I have sacrificed here.
I have my blessings returned manifold through the amazing people here that have never ceased to be a source of encouragement and pillars of strength.
Before I began my formal interpretation of Open house for the KRreporters, I thought it was more important to share about what is at the heart of things.
Two days ago I asked, “So, how’s the booth building?”
“Seriously damn sian mann. . . . aiya, can be damn tiring. But we push each other on lah, makes the process easier”
This line (however crude) made me realize that this essentially sums up what the KR experience can give to university life.
Nobody said it’ll be easy, but it doesn’t have to be so hard.
I hope that what strikes you, will be beyond the magnificence of the booth ;)
Do stay long enough to hear out the dedication of the individuals that are more than ready to tell you why iheartkr.
SEE YOU THERE.
LOVE,
CAROL. CBLK. THIRD FLOOR <3
